Dear Church Family,
I am writing to introduce to you a new initiative that we are beginning at Little Britain Presbyterian Church. I am excited to let you know that we will be launching Shepherding Teams at our church. Each team will consist of at least one elder and one deacon. Each team will have a shepherding list of active members and regular attenders of our church. The chief aim of each team will be to let every person know they are cared for, prayed for, and have a voice in our congregation. The hope is that, through this intentional format, no one will be missed or overlooked, and everyone will be strengthened in our connection with one another.
Naturally, you will be curious to know who is part of your Shepherding Team. In the next few months, you can expect them to reach out to you and identify themselves. If you don’t receive a contact, let me know and I will research what happened.
I hope that you will appreciate the contact and care offered to you, but also know that you don’t need to wait if you have some concern, or a prayer request. We invite you to reach out directly to the church anytime.

I will continue to seek to shepherd the whole congregation. However, I am not able to keep in contact with everyone as I would like to do. Therefore, we feel it is wise to have the shepherding team provide care and connection. This new design will allow the elders to enjoy more of a shepherding role while working more closely with the deacons.
I am sure you have questions – feel free to ask them. This is new for all of us, and we will grow in this together. We will start September 1, 2022 and give a trial period for one year. Next summer, we will evaluate if the Shepherding Teams are meeting the goals we have, and decide what changes need to be made.
This summer I have been preaching through our core values as a congregation. Let me exhort you to consider one area that you would like to grow spiritually in and commit to the next three months to incorporating a new habit in your life. If you need any suggestions or resources see our website, me, or any of the members of Session.
Looking to God with you,
Pastor Tom
